Dragon Nest: Opinion

Hello there! It's been quite some time since I have done anything with my blog, Gaming Stuffz. With summer coming around the corner and more time on my hands, I thought why not and add another article here! This time I will be writing about Dragon Nest, which I have just gotten into.

Dragon Nest is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by Eyedenity Games, and published by Nexon here in the United States. It runs on a non-targeting combat system which allows players to have complete control over the character during combat.

Starting off with classes, Dragon Nest has a variety of classes totaling 8 different classes each with specializations. When a player first starts they have the option of choosing from being a Warrior, Archer, Cleric, Sorceress, Tinkerer (NA), Kali, Assassin, or Lencea. Each class has it own weapons and skills along with specializations available at certain levels. For me I choose Cleric and became a Paladin later in the game. The variety of classes allow a variety of play styles along with a range of weapons to use. Something I noticed was that each classes was gender specific. This may have been something I just overlooked during character creation, but regardless the gender does not affect game play.

Next is the story. From the start you are put into a compelling story trying to save the goddess Althea, who was poisoned by her evil sister, Vestinel or that's what Wikipedia tells you. From what I know so far of the game, the quest offer much of the story as they, combined with dungeon raiding, provide much of the game play. With the need of leveling to acquire skills, the grind doesn't take too long for the early levels, I would say up to 30. From 30 on grinding for levels may take some time depending on quest taken and dungeons raided.

With the MMORPG aspect of the game comes the community and economy. In-game you can join a variety of guilds ranging from raiding to friendly. Players can also join parties or create their own to raid dungeons or other guilds. Economy wise there is the basic currency of gold, silver, and copper coins used for most items. There is also the option of using real money to pay for costumes and other items along with other in-game currencies exchanged for weapons, armor, and other what not. Don't like the goods from NPCs, there's also a market place ran by players that sell basically everything and anything in-game.
Fighting the boss

Personally from what I have done so far in the game I found that with a compelling line of quest and tons of dungeons to run through, Dragon Nest is very entertaining for your causal gamer to your hardcore ones, either alone or with a friend. I have obviously left lots of stuff out, but if you have enjoyed reading this leave a comment!
